Setting up Young Parents for Workforce Success
A wrap-around support, workforce development program for young parents.
This project will fund an 8-week workforce development and life skills training program for a cohort of young parents starting in 2024. There will be a total of 8 training sessions over the 8 weeks. This project will also provide access to a weekly food and diapers pantry open to all young parents (up to age 25) who live in the area. This program will provide wrap around services for participants such as childcare, an hourly wage, transportation, and food allowances.
Young parents will get paid to attend classes where they will learn life skills such as financial literacy and basic job skills. Childcare and educational STEM toys will be provided for their children while they attend classes.
